100 Word Challenge – …but I didn’t understand the instructions…

“WHY did you buy all of that?” Laura’s parents asked with anger on their faces.

“You just told me to go shopping! I didn’t know you meant the groceries!” She replied, desperately trying not to get grounded.

“We don’t care!” Laura’s father yelled.

But I didn’t understand the instructions! Laura was screaming inside of her head.

“YOU”RE GROUNDED!” Laura’s parents yelled, walking off in opposite directions for ‘dramatic effect.’

Laura closed her bedroom doot  and lay down on her bed, staring at the celling, wishing that she had paid more attention to what her parents had said.

  1. Wow Estella. I thought that was really good. One thing I’ll say, is that you probably should have what she bought, instead of groceries. Don’t leave me hanging U_U .

  2. Hello Estella,

Well done! I found this scenario very believable. A misunderstanding can happen when instructions are poor but… I wonder if Laura perhaps took the opportunity to buy what she wanted rather than what her parents expected? Laura sounds fascinating as I considered what might have happened.

Your story is well written. The only error I noticed was a simple typo. Again, well done.

I hope you can continue entering the 100WC. Writers developing good skill in writing should share their adventures.
